It seems he uses an ancient version of ooPo’s toolchain and even older psl1ght.
Everything is ready to go but when launching hermes v4c it just black screens.
We should have this issue fixed soon and then we will release Rebug 3.41E Beta 2.0!

We have been working around the clock to fix some minor bugs and make it so you will no longer need a jailbreak device for Rebug. This release will be for 3.41

KNOWN BUG: When exiting from a BD/DVD or GAME when NOT in JB mode the PS3 will restart..
This only occurs when the PS3 is NOT jailbroken and NO data is lost when it happens.. I am trying to fix the issue now but thought that since it is a beta people that haven’t tried it yet can at least easily preview Rebug and if the exit bug mentioned above is too annoying simply update back to retail without losing any saves, game data, etc..
KNOWN BUG: Unable to install Rebug 3.41E Beta from ‘recovery mode’.
PS3 will error while unpacking the Rebug 3.41E Beta PUP file in ‘recovery mode’. The machine will restart as normal with no data lost.

NOTE: It is recommended that users of the previous Rebug pack install DO NOT update with this as it will install the the annoying exit bug mentioned above.. If you have installed it and would like to return back to the pack install you will have to run the Retail 3.41 update first.. No data will be lost doing this..

While the hard drive is out let the PS3 boot back up. it will give you a message to press the PS button to re-start the update process again or press start and select with the controller plugged in and the USB drive attached with the update
Plug in your USB drive, and press start and select. as soon as you press those buttons push the drive back into place, and the machine will install the firmware you have on your usb drive.
We have put together a VirtualBox Image of PSL1GHT so you can create and sign you own code.

Ok Lets Get Started
Part 1:
1. Copy the Rebug folder over to a USB stick
2. Jailbreak your console with PSGroove 1.1 You can find it at http://rebug.me
3. Install Comgenie Awesome Filemanager v6
4. Install Mount Alejandro
5. Load Mount Alejandro and press O (It will return to XMB)
6. Load Comgenie Awesome Filemanager
7. Enter the dir dev_Alejandro on the LEFT side
**WARNING** At this point you can brick your console if you are not careful!
8. Press Select
9. Delete the directories listed below by pressing [] then Start

10. Open your USB stick on the RIGHT side and enter the Rebug directory
11. Copy over each directory by pressing O then Start
12. After all of the directories are copied to dev_Alejandro power down the console by holding down the ‘Power’ button
13. Install the Rebug 3.41E Payload on your jailbreak device. You can find it at http://rebug.me
14. Jailbreak your PS3 and enjoy your new Rebugged console!
Part 2: (Optional for the Rebug 3.41E Beta 1.0.1 PUP release. Users of the Rebug 3.41E Beta 1.0 dev_flash pack continue to Part 3)
Unfortunately in the Rebug 3.41E Beta 1.0.1 PUP release the extra debug menu is not installed as PUP packing had only just started and we didn’t want to mess with the folder structure quite yet. However this does not mean you can not install it yourself.
Part 3:
This allows to swap between Rebug’s two different ‘Debug Settings’ menus (you can swap between debug_menu1 and debug_menu2)
1. Jailbreak your console with any Rebug 3.41E payload.
2. Load Mount Alejandro and press O (It will return to XMB)
3. Load Comgenie Awesome Filemanager
4. Enter the dir ‘dev_Alejandro/vhs/module/’ on the LEFT side
5. Enter the dir ‘dev_flash/vhs/rebug/debug_menu2′ on the RIGHT side
**WARNING** At this point you can brick your console if you are not careful!
6. Press Select
7. Select sysconf_plugin.sprx and press O then start
8. Hold the PS button down and Quit Game
9. Go have a look at all the new Debug option =)
If you want to swap back to debug menu 1 follow the directions above and enter debug_menu1 instead.
